My impression thus far is disturbed loner, ala Lee Harvey Oswald, NIU gunman, and Va Tech killer.

Might've become a terrorist had someone given him an opportunity, but either they didn't know about him, or he was too off the hook to be reliable.

I wouldn't say he was a loner, since he was a major. Majors should have a lot of contact with classes lower and higher then them, especially if hes a psychiatrist. Like I said before, the guy is clearly a idiot.

There are handfuls of ways he could of handled the situation, by doing this he just destroyed any chance of a life he would have. He's going to be lucky if he gets anything less the a firing squad.

Yet another tragic shootout! Then on the heels of Fort Hood comes Orlando, FL. I was just talking to my wife about these events and mentioned to her I'm surprised no one has initiated a shootout at a bank or insurance company building. The way some of those companies have ruthlessly dealt with their customers along with all the other economic issues the people have been facing in recent times, it's a wonder more individuals haven't snapped and gone on a shooting rampage, targeting company higher ups!

The thing is, in most cases the shooters worked there. The guy from fort hood was stationed there, the guy in Florida worked there two years ago.

My old TB girlfriend lived in Killeen, her dad worked at Fort Hood. I flew out to visit her for a week.

But we broke up awhile ago... She broke my heart.

oh, shootings... yeah... sad...but until someone can PROVE it was terrorists, I do not believe he was.

You're a little behind on the news. The shooter was an army psychiatrist who snapped because he didn't want to go to Iraq.

I believe this was a planned incident and act of terrorism. He was allegedly speaking arabic, painted "allah" on his door, and we are at war in a muslim country. There are far too many indicators that point to terrorism. Just because he was an officer in the Army is not important.

Right. He was 'allegedly' (be interesting to know what you're basing this on) speaking Arabic and had some religious writing on his door. All that indicates is that he speaks Arabic and is a Muslim, not that he is a terrorist. You're making a huge prejudgement and presumption there which essentially equates to you saying 'he's a Muslim so he's probably a terrorist', or, - put another way - you're charging a man without evidence on the basis of his religious affiliation. Sorry, but that's bigotry.

Of course it's a terrible tragedy, I'm sorry for those affected and understand that it's an emotive event, but let's wait and see what can be uncovered about the guy's real motives rather than leaping to conclusion based on rumour and circumstantial postulation, eh? It's all guesswork at this stage until something concrete can be uncovered or he's in a state to speak himself and your brand of guesswork is particularly unwholesome and unhelpful.
