Decline of briefs in today's society.

I dunno, I guess boxers/boxer briefs are just regarded as more fashionable. And fashion is fickle; it changes. Constantly. A few decades ago, boxers were 'old man underwear.' Now they're the 'in' thing for guys of my age group (give or take ten years), while my dad and grandfather are running around in their tighty whities.

That said, I find briefs to be more comfortable (boxers ride up), but I prefer colors/prints over plain white. Uhh... maybe it has something to do with wanting to distance yourself from the kind of underwear your dad wears?

I find briefs uncomfortable, too restricted down there. Boxers are really loose, I thinks it's a matter of personal preference.

All depends on situation. If I'm going hiking and the boys need some support, then its boxer-briefs all the way. If I'm lounging about the house on saturday, I'm either freeballing it or boxers. I keep some regular briefs around, but don't wear them much unless I'm wearing them over a diaper for compression.

FWIW, I switched to briefs around grade 10-11 and haven't looked back. I hate boxers (they ride up, get twisted, and cut off circulation...the guys know what I mean). But, I only wear really nice microfibre ones (usually $30/pair).

Edit: Oh, and they're black, definitely not white.

Erm, right. People tending to wear or prefer a certain type of underwear more commonly today than in the past is definitely a sensible reason to suppose that society is rapidly degrading. Personally, I think we can trace back most of society's ills to the decline in popularity of the loincloth.

I simply find boxers more comfy and don't like how tight and restrictive either briefs or boxer briefs are. I also think that boxers look better and handily leave more to the imagination when stumbling directly out of bed and towards the kettle in the mornings when housemates are roaming. That's just my particular penchant though, and unlike you seem to be I'm able to acknowledge that people having different tastes or preferences to me doesn't make them bad or wrong and that not everyone does or should like the same things and find the same things comfortable. I like boxers, you like briefs; neither of us is more correct than the other.

Seriously, if you get that worked up about some people preferring a different kind of underwear to you, you must have an aneurysm every time you... well, think about, or do, anything else considering this is just about the most trivial and unimportant topic one could conceive of.

And I never said that briefs looked "gross"....they're just not exactly what I'd like to see on a guy after....the incident with my mom's boyfriend at 5 in the morning two Christmases ago.... (Went up, saw him in nothing but underwear making coffee.....went back to bed for 4 hours.) But I have nothing against a briefs man. It's just that they like their support.

It can be true...and it can not be true. Sometimes a well-endowed guy wears briefs.........on occasion.
