The past thirteen years have been a wild ride.
In 1995, I set up a website dedicated to distributing information on paraphilic infantilism and diaper fetishes. It was actually through a typo that I became connected with the online community, but that is another story. Back then, the website was called "BitterGrey's Den." Over time, the Internet grew. I began seeking contributions so the website could provide more than one perspective. To advertise this, the name was changed to "Understanding Infantilism." This is important because, while none of us are alone, we are all unique.
The second step was almost as accidental as the typo. In 2006 I found that the Wikipedia article on infantilism had been cut down to a footnote and a presentation about pedophilia. An article that I was getting ready for Understanding Infantilism was adapted as a new starting point. There was much debating. The first three months of arguing was with the folks who removed the previous article. They accepted the new one after parts of it had enough references, and the other parts had been cut. After that, the debates continued, but with different people. This new group each had radically different impressions about who AB/DLs were. Not surprisingly, each thought they were the true AB/DL. Unfortunately, some were actually quite viscous. (I too tend to think of things in my own terms, which is why I invited different perspectives onto the website before, and tried to find neutral grounds on Wikipedia. )
This, of course, led to the next stage in this ride. This stage was actually planned. It involved a series of surveys. The first one is nearing it's close, and the second should start up in a month or so. There have been many surveys before, but they averaged all the data together, to come up with the average AB/DL. This new survey series would correlate data, to get an accurate image of who we as AB/DLs are. It would show what we have in common, and how we differ. Hopefully, th
