  • I was going to give you an update about Izumicon. I know it's only a couple days away, but I'm still not sure if I'm going to be able to go. I'm still trying to figure out, if we're going to get all of our work done this week, where I'd be free for Saturday morning / afternoon. I already know I'd have to leave around 3 or 4pm if I went. I've got to take care of cattle that evening; and it's about a 2 hour drive for me to be in OKC.

But I'll let you know this weekend what's going on. I don't think it's very likely that I'll be able to make it. But I'll let you know early on Saturday if I can. That way, hopefully you might be able to check your messages on here; and we'd be able to say hi to each other.

Would you be there all day on Saturday, or just come that evening and night?
So in Tales are you granted full movement in combat like in Kingdom Hearts/Dragonage? I will have to look into Xillia. .....you lost me at 4E. LOL Yeeeeah not a fan. Tried it, not a fan of the changes. I mainly play pathfinder. I played a lottle of Baulder's gate on an emulator so I know what you mean about glitches. XD
I'm playing Neverwinter Nights 2, so I can't speak for the first one. The companions are interesting, but I'm not far enough into the plot to completely review it. The best part is probably all of the DnD classes that were ported almost directly from 3.5. You create a character, choose a race, attributes, skills, feats, etc. just as if you were making one for a DnD campaign. I would prefer 4E, but that's just the one I started with, lol. It plays very similarly to Dragon Age Origins or KoTOR. Conversations have skill checks (usually Diplomacy, Bluff, or Intimidate), and companions lose and gain influence based on your choices. It's pretty great so far, and I'm only eighth level. Only problems are the controls, and the glitches that Obsidian can be expected to leave in. It's quite difficult to move and position during a fight, and sometimes you'll get caught on a piece of scenery and be teleported back thirty feet. Companions seem to have a hard time keeping up. Still, it's very fun.
Tales is very Anime-esque, so you should know that going in. The best ones I've played are Tales of Symphonia, for Gamecube, remastered on the PS3, and Tales of the Abyss, for PS2 and apparently the 3DS now. Tales of Xillia, for the PS3, is also quite good. And the squeal just came out! I typically describe them as a cross between final fantasy and super smash brothers- when you get into battle, you directly control and move a character, executing abilities with button combinations similar to smash brothers, that you customize and set yourself. It's an RPG though, not a simple fighting game.
Well, if you have a Wii, I strongly suggest that you procure copies of Fire Emblem Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. The style of play is much closer to what I consider "classic" Fire Emblem. Also, the plot is great.
Mainly my computer these days, but my PS3 still gets some use.

I'm mainly into RPGs. Within that, a lot of different genres with RPG elements. Dragon Age, Tales of series, Mass Effect, Fire Emblem, Pokemon. I've been getting into classics lately, like KoTOR and Neverwinter Nights. Sometimes I like to play Sim games, like Animal Crossing or just the Sims.

    Yourself?

You have a very cleaver and creative signiture i thought it was cute :)
Hey, thanks! Wish I could take more credit, but like the monkeys, most of the credit goes to P&G.
Thanks good that there's a mix of different cosplay going on. I'll have to make a choice as to what I'd want to wear. I'll still need to check and see if I can go, and see if I can find someone that wants to go too. I know a few of my cousins are always going to Comic conventions...I wonder if I might be able to get one of them to go.
Will do. I'll let you know in advance if I can make it. Right now I'm still debating on if I can go. I'll have to see what happens this next month. Not sure how much work I'm going to get done. Hopefully, I'll be able to have a free weekend.

What are some of the different activities that go on Saturday? I saw that there isn't a schedule yet, but thought you might have an idea, since you've gone before.

Is it just people doing anime cosplay / anime lectures and panels?

If I went, I'd be able to wear a Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes costume (maybe Hobbes) or a zombie. I've got a really cool zombie costume. Full silicone head mask, that moves with my face and silicone hands / glove things. It's a really cool costume. I got it because I wanted to do the zombie walk in OKC...the year I got the costume was the year that they stopped doing it...
I'm not getting the game because I am not a fan of the newer generations now. They are adding mega forms to Pokemon and that pretty much has killed the classical series to me.
:p I have no idea to be honest, I never really paid attention to the game currently. I am always a grass starter so I would guess I'd pick my grass starter.
