In direct contrast to the Bush Administration's policy of punishing people who legitimately have a use for marijuana instead of going after drug dealers; Obama made good on his promise to stop the federal raids on medical marijuana dispensers. He signed a three page statement on it. Good on him.

We are one step closer to peace in America. Now if we could only subscribe mandatory doses of marijuana to treat the disease known as republicanism. :P

I saw this a bit ago, it a step in the right direction but it's not all that great.

This is in no way binding it was simply a recommendation to stop raids on people operating within state law. The fda/police are in no way obligated to follow this.

It may seem great on the surface but until it is an actual law it's nothing.

In Psychology, we watched a video on the effects of marijuana on the body and mind. In the half hour long film there were only two negative statements, and both of them are even more so in alcohol and cigarettes. All the film made me want to do is smoke some pot or eat some hash cookies, which they taught us how to do! There was a demonstration on making hash cookies, with directions and everything. It was amazing.

Sadly I know plenty of Republicans who smoke pot...so I don't think there is a cure for that. But...there is hope for compromise
