The fact that somebody has aspburgers is insignificant to me on whether or not I will be their friend or not. I don't care if they do or don't and I don't want to hear about it, particularly. Cruel? Not really. I have a genetic heart defect and disease and it will kill me eventually. Doesn't make or break my social relationships and most people don't even know. I kind of think the same way about people with personality disorders or mental disabilities. It's all the same. If you're a good friend, you're a good friend, regardless of your status in the world.

So I call it assburgers because it's insignificant to me.
chill.

I completely agree with you Fire_lupine. I've talked with quiet a few Aspies (my self included) that view that term like f***t or the N-word. It's not something that should be used ever.

moving on to the important stuff...

It bothers me when people with assburgers use it as a crutch for EVERYTHING. okay so you have a personality disorder that mildly affects your daily life. BUT REALLY? Does it have to control everything you do? Is your life really that horrible because you're awkward at interacting with people? Yes I feel bad for people who are actually autistic and I would never think to criticize them.

But omg. If I hear one more person bitch and moan about how much their life sucks because they have aspburgers I swear to god I will slap them.

Really... you are who you make yourself. Even if you have that certain affliction, stop using it as a goddamn excuse to be a whiny bitch.
This is a pretty ignorant post. You should do more research on the topic before you go off like this (learning to spell "Asperger" would be a start). People with this disorder, and autism in general, can be very bright while having very little social skills.

You really shouldn't be maligning these people... but perhaps the people who have "self-diagnosed" themselves with it as an excuse (e.g. for why they have no friends). I tend to doubt people with legitimate Asperger's syndrome walk around advertising it much.

I know that was directed at Annie, but I'm pretty sure she feels similar to me on the topic.... it's not people who genuinely have aspergers... it's those self-diagnosed who use it as a crutch for being losers.

You posted it while I was posting. Yw.

EDIT: meh, it's just a pet peeve of mine when people self-diagnose themselves with something and then whine about it. I'm guessing this is probably what's behind this, and as long as that's the case we're at least sort of on the same page.

Hmmm i totally agree, i mean i can honestly see people complaining about situations that they very cannot control, and that i am totally fine with.

Yet its people who have problems with simple solutions that they complain about or the people who put themselves in their current situation that annoy me.

Like one of guys who used to live in my dorm. I think it would be safe to typecast him as a very typical emo kid. I didnt hold it against him, and he was honestly a really cool guy when he was actually trying to go do stuff with us. But he started to complain when people started to not hang around him because he couldnt control what he was saying. I.E. Making fun of someones culture because he thought some of the things certain people beleived in was perposterous and had to voice his opnion very often.

I agree with irony of this thread complaining about the complainers. By making this thread you are, whether you realize it or not are contributing to it. Your asking people for their advice on what they think about it knowing very well conflict will ensue, its inevitible. We will all complain about something, some to a greater degree than others and each for own reasons. Nothing can ever be generalized to a certain point at which it gives any of us the right to talk negatively. All i have read in this thread is arguements and complaints. Now the thread maker was asking for opinions and it may have came off as sympathy towards their actions in a way as to agree. Now as for dealing with people who complain. Yes, you are right that your life sucks that all these bad things happen, that nothing will ever come out as you want and your are doomed to what we call earth, all of us have our problems, our ups and downs. My responce to them is welcome to the club buddy, you have just realized that life aint perfect but at least its something. Everyone wants to be noticed to some degree and how people go and obtain is up to them. So this thread was meerely a rant that alot of people decided to join in on and cause an arguement.

Now, as for the people with medical conditions, what should it matter that they complain about it? Does it really bother you that much? Do you really feel that they are causing nothing but problems for you? Well if you answered yes, you are no better than they. They are who they've chose to be and now you must deal with it. life isnt perfect and stop trying to make it that way. It's possible you started this when your emotions were high and created it out of impulse, understandable. So to answer your question (which i dont think anyone here has) yes, you are a bitch simply for complaing about them. just deal with it and move on and dont bother asking. I no longer see any point in this thread as i feel it will only spiral downword from here. Thank you for bothering to read through this and have a nice day.
