I've known people with more dehabilitating issues. Not sure what they had but it may have included some sort of incontinence. I obviously never asked. I think it really boils down to if you make it an issue, then it will be. There was another thread regarding the legal issues somewhere around which may also be a good read. The vast majority I don't think have the presence of mind/never pay attention enough, frankly most people see it as a medical issue regardless if they ever find out and once that's settled nobody really seems to care as long as it doesn't vastly get in the way.

Reading this thread I keep trying to think of a job where diapers really preclude you from doing your job and besides what has been mentioned I really can't think of anything in particular.

I doubt there are many things that wearing would totally preclude you from, but I can think of lots of jobs that it could either help or hinder. I can't imagine doing heavy, outdoor labor for long periods of time while padded. Everytime I hang out in the shop working on my car or mow the yard on a warm day I end up with a swollen diaper due to sweat.

There are many professions I can think of that would actually benefit. Long haul truck drivers, surgeons performing long operations, etc.

i'd say you should just wear diapers whenever you want. if that means 24/7 right now, then so be it. if you want to enter a line of work someday that would make diaper-wearing inconvenient, you can just not wear them at work. you don't have to make rules for yourself like "i will never wear 24/7" or "i will wear 24/7 from now until the day i die."

Exactly... That's the way I started looking at it and the stress and guilt melted away. If I feel like it I wear, if I am sick of it I put it away for a while. I know it's important to find a reason for wanting to wear at all but once you figure that out I don't think you'll really want to wear completely 24/7 but to each his own I guess.

As far as the medical profession, wearing protection by itself would definitely not be a problem for the most part, unless of course you want a HPSP (military) scholarship for medical school, but that is the same as the military as a whole. That said, if you are unprofessional in the way you handle it, for example wear them in a unnecessarily obvious way, that is a completely different matter, however, I assume, and hope, that anyone here would recognize the difference between these two scenarios. Also might be worth noting that a number of times throughout medical school you would practice various aspects of the physical exam, such as abdominal, musculoskelatal, cardiac, respiratory, etc (but of course not any of the more invasive/private sections) that might make your diapered condition noticeable to those around you, of course, again, professionalism is expected from the classmates, and all would probably assume its for a medical condition, however something to think about if you wouldn't want anyone to know...

Trust me, I have thought about it.

My biggest concern was this being discovered NOT being a medical incontinence...and that would royally screw up my life, surely.

But graduate school is four years away. I have plenty of time to think this out, if not at least develop real incontinence to justify my position.

That's that.

I spent a bit more time thinking about this, and would just like to throw out one other aspect, in a career such as medicine where professional relationships are incredibly important and you have to be able to trust the people you work with, and I would raise the question of having to be dishonest regarding your condition to anyone who becomes aware of it, either fellow students, other members of the healthcare team, or possibly your patients.
Anyways, if you, or anyone else, have any more specific questions about medical school in particular feel free to ask.

I live for honesty.

This is not honest.

All I have ever wanted has been to be able to wear diapers, and if the Universe manifests this desire via incontinence, then so be it.

I will not manifest what is dishonest.

Thread Closure Requested.
