did you notice the first sentence? figure it out. after shelling out $800 on the 4 hour ER visit, including a cat scan of the offending article i tried to set up a follow up visit with the urologist, i owed him about $450. i passed the sucker out about a week later.
to continue, that was a nice old bill from years gone by.. oh yeah, now i remember, some really bad urinary retention issues, involving a 1800ml bladder i remember spending a week pissing in a tube that time. i got sick of the expensive route. i guess i paid dearly for it. if it want one thing, its another with this urinary tract of mine, i am, at this stage, peeing almost freely (completely incontinenet) and definitely with little to no pain Last edited by Peachy; 13-09-2008 at 09:47 PM. i had urine retention and had a subrapubic catheter for 5 months in - but it made bowel control nealry impossible and hurt like nothing i can explain. i needed to relearn to pee thru my penis after 5 months. no control but i did not have control prior to surgery.

I know what those are. My urologist had suggested that I get one to control my bladder problem when I first began to lose control, but I wasn't too wild about the idea of a hole right through the front of my groin. And I've heard some real horror stories about getting infections from it as well, because the catheter just passes right through your skin and the wall of your bladder just behind the skin. My wife was for it at first, but she did some research on it and changed her mind really quick. The urologist also suggested then that I self catheterize myself to drain my bladder before I had an accident, and that would work if I had the time to do it and was someplace I could do it without being interrupted, but a public restroom isn't one of those places. And it hurt so much to do it too, that I decided to just use the diapers, since I had to wear them anyway in case I couldn't drain myself with a catheter or had an accident between draining. My wife also once suggested that I get a colostomy to keep from having messy accidents in my diapers, and again, I wasn't going to go for it at all. After she researched that as well, again, she changed her mind after finding out about all the problems associated with them. And then someone she works with just had to have one after having some bowel problems, (I think they has diverticulitis), and they got several infections and had to have another surgery to remove more of their intestines. Another lady my wife knows now has had to have several sections of their intestines removed because of infections and things not healing correctly, and now they don't know if it can be reversed so she can use her bowels the correct way now. I don't like having to wear a diaper for either reason, but it's better than having someone put extra holes into your body that may or may not improve your quality of life. And knowing my luck, my quality of life would go from the toilet to the sewage treatment plant. Uppitycrip, I'm glad you were able to have it reversed and not have any bad side effects from it. Let me ask you though, I'm curious now, did it hurt when they did it or any time after wards, or when it was reversed? And did you have any complications from it? |

when i was between 11 or 14 can't remember, i had a UTI Urinary Tract Infection...anyway my grandfather is a "guy plumbing specialist" and said i should get an exploratory procedure done, this being uncommon for guys and more common in girls because they have a smaller UT apparently, makes sense when u think about it...anyway i went and got it done, they knock you out etc and they do it with a camera. Long story short since between 11 - 14 i have always after going to to toilet "leaked" i'm not sure if this is what it was from but yeh.
i probably should have told someone but it isn't as bad as it sounds Last edited by Peachy; 25-09-2008 at 11:04 PM. Reason: merging double post |

If you wear diapers enough and just wet them you will start to get more urinary incontinent (if you are easy with relaxing your muscles). So far ive been getting more urinary incontinent because my muscles are getting used to the fact of just letting the urine flow out without holding it in. its not to great when you have to use the bathroom during school and some of it leaks out...
