One sentence stories

Pretty self explanatory. I thought of this a while ago when I read "The Shortest Horror Story".
It goes like this:
"The last man on earth sat in a room. There was a knock on the door."

Course, that's no one sentence, but you get the point. There's also a sequal, which is shorter by one letter:
"The last man on earth sat in a room. There was a lock on the door."
Which is incredibly disturbing when you think about it.

So, write a story that gets the point across in as few sentences as possible. I'll think of some soon.

I once met a man who claimed to be God, but after I asked him to heal my broken arm (which he was unable to do), I realized he was not actually God, and I walked away, never to see the man again.

I once pondered, weak and weary, at mmidnight on a night considered bleak and dreary, over many quaint and curious volumes of forgotten lore when suddenly - at my chamber door - there came a rapping(actually, more like a gente tapping)... perhaps the lost love of my life( the lost Lenore???)

Crap I know, but it's hard to paraphrase Mr Poe eloquently.
