Sooooo
I have parakeets, and the mom randomly started attacking one of her own babies :(.

So I had to take it out..im wondering if I should try to put it back in the cage or just hand rear it myself.

For now, I put it back to see if mom was just having a bad day...but if all goes wrong..ill take care of it.

Here it is in a basket, isnt it cyutte ;3

^Agreed. I have two parakeets myself, although they haven't done the deed of the night, so I guess we won't be expecting any baby 'keets, lol.

Sometimes that happens, or maybe mom thinks the little one is ready to move out. From the looks of the feathers, baby is close to ready to feed itself. Certainly softer foods like veggies or bread.

My last gf's parents had parakeets... things bred like rabbits. They were cute, but their house sounded like a zoo.
