I wrote this on the old forum. I'm not sure if it's already an article, but if not I would like to add it.
Getting supplies through the internet First off all, If you live with you parents, it is preferrable if they work all day. If they tend to come home unexpectably, then you you may not want to risk buying diapers, or other related items online. But if you insist on trying, I've got some things that I do to ensure I don't get caught. 1.) buy on a Friday or Saturday, and use fast shipping. Preferrably next day before noon. I normally use Priority, by sometiems expedited is the only way to go. 2.)Learn you parents work schedules. Know what days their off, and what time they come home every day. That way, you can plan for your supplies to arrive at a time their not home. 3.)Only buy a little at a time. Northshorecare is good about this, but some companies send the diapers in HUGE boxes that are sort of hard to hide til trash day.. 4.)If your parents come home early, or the mail man comes late- don't panic, stay calm. Go outside and wait for the post man if you can. If you can't go outside, then keep an eye out the windown for the mail guy. If you have a doorbell, and you find yourself in this situation, disable it. Find the ringer in your house, take the little cover off, and unscrew the black wire. Voila, and no one has a clue what you did. Now if the mail guy stops by, and rigns the bell. You'll hear nothing, and he'll have leave you a package, assuming no one is home. Just be sure to check the door frequently on deliver day. Just in case, they do find the box, try lying. Tell them it's something else. A mailorder for school, newspapers, whatever, just have something ready, and make it convincing. They might buy it. Believe it or not, that has worked for me before. If they insist on tearing it open.. Then well, I guess you can always play the bedwetting card.. If you have a history, they may understand. But beware of the consequences of that lie.. Doctors, testing, etc- Try blaming it on stress, and a friend told you to try it.. Just thing to do however, is to not buy naything in large bulk- keep the package small. Much easier to hide. Buying from a store Recommended if you have unpredictable parent work schedules. 1.)Know where you are going, what you are buying, and exactly where it is. 2.)Speed is the idea here. The quicker you can get in and out of the store, the better. The longer it lags on, the more you will question your decision. 3.)Stay calm. Think good thoughts. Think about how good they'll feel when you finally get to wear them, as you buy them. 4.)Use self checkout, if the store has one. If not, then just play it cool as the checker scans it. I always try to find the oldest checker I can, as they never seem to care what I'm buying... 5.)Buy other stuff as well. A candy bar, magazine, etc.. In other words, play it casual, and if they ask questions, tell them the diapers are for your father who is the hospital, dying of cancer. Trust me, they will shut up immediately.. if they don't or harrass you about it, just call their manager,(on the phone.) and tell him or her that the checker in question was extremely rude and discourteous. That'll usually be enough to at least have them put on probation. Or fired, if it's a common problem with them.. I would write an article on how to hide them- but we already have a thread about that.. I hope that helped you to feel better at trying it. The rewards are great, and you'll really good after you do it. All it really takes, is common sense, and a bit of cunning. Feel free to add to this, if there's something I missed. It's not my article, it's the communities. Please note that I messed up the title. Originally, I was going to say how to hide them too, before I remembered we already did that, and forgot to change it. Oh well... |

What I do if I'm nervous or if the cashier asks questions is:
1. Look at the packaging of the diapers in question. 2. Ask: Would these fit a (member of the opposite sex, if you like) who is (age group) and weighs about (specified weight)? This is as much to comfort you as it is to shut them up. I do it a lot, just because it makes ME less nervous. |

Another thing with purchasing at a store, is to put it in a large gift back, so only the cashier can see it. I have done this twice and they scan inside the back and no one sees what i have, the only downfall is i have to pay for a gift bag i didn't need. Oh well, save it for my brothers bday

Hah, I consider myself to have the ultimate hiding spot. I don't really hide it. I cleansed out a locker in my bookshelf and placed 3 different kind of locks on it. My parents usually ask me what I have in there, but I just say "It's my private locker". To get in you either have to unlock it och break the bookshelf apart. Ultimate.
