I used Boots Stay Dry before I bought nappies online. I feel that they would be ok to start you off/used on a short term basis.

However, they do not hold much, do not have plastic backing (I love that crinkle sound) and like many other people have said the tapes are not that good.

I would buy a bag and see for yourself. My favourite nappy is the Abena X-plus, which seems to hold loads and swells up very nicely.

Enjoy - J

Have you looked in local chemists? They usually stock a small range of Tena, if your lucky they'll have Tena Slip - Every chemist I've been to has been willing to order a pack or 2 in for me.

haha... I prefer "bollocks" myself.

I haven't ever tried them, but I will say that, with some slight persuasion from everyone, they sound pretty rubbish.

If online purchasing isn't an option then have a look at this wiki page - maybe you should consider some of the brands on there instead. RedApple made a good point - smaller chemists might have something more suitable, or could order them in for you. The likes of Boots or big company chemists don't usually.

And, uh.. you don't have to answer this, but why can't you buy online? Just curious because some peeps have said before that they can't buy online for reasons that can sometimes be easily worked around...

owt that Boots have is crap.
while you may be restricted by not being able to buy online, there's still the olde worlde method of walking into a shop and plonking cash on t' counter.
finding a shop is also 'olde worlde': thumb through the Yellow Pages and find the specialist chemists, nursing supplies and mobility shops in your area, ring them and ask if they sell to the public.
another way, if you live up north, is to ring the old cotton mills, as some have taken on incontinence wear manufacture and supply and they can provide samples, sales or purchasing advice.
