Oh, I just realized that I only gave an answer for the first question. As for training the bladder, I missed that part...

IMHO, 24/7 or 9/7 should not matter. I don't wear anywhere near 24/7, but have become accustomed to using a diaper in my sleep. Training my bladder to wake me up if the diaper is not present is my current goal. I usually only wear a diaper at night.

From what I have read, it appears that you are not comfortable using a diaper in bed. That will definitely hinder your goal. Eclipse gave a very good set of directions. The only thing that I want to add is some more suggestions for getting comfortable using the diaper while in bed.

Try to figure out what position you are most comfortable for using the diaper. Start out using that position in bed. For me, that position was mostly upright with my knees and feet resting on the bed. In your second post, you mentioned "squatting beside the bed." Have you tried that position in bed? Once you overcome using the diaper in bed, try to progress to laying down on your back and stomach. These can also be practiced during the day.

Your first goal is to learn to use the diaper in bed. Your second goal is to be able to do such laying down on your back and stomach. During this step, try the positions suggested by Eclipse. Only after these steps are done can you begin to learn to sleep through it. This final part may take a while.

By the way, does Luvsgurl have any suggestions for me to learn to wake up when a diaper is not present? I would greatly appreciate any advice.

Well... I did achieve some success last night. I had a few glasses of lemonade right before bed... woke up a few hours later... and was able to wet while laying down without too much effort. I can still only go if my bladder is full to the point of bursting... so it filled the diaper almost completely. I went back to sleep and awoke again after a few hours... had to go again. I knew the diaper couldn't handle it so I went into the bathroom... wet... and changed.

My goal is to see if I can repeat this tonite. I figure if I get into a pattern of doing it every night it will eventually become natural.

I'll ask her about that when I see her tonite.

The problem I had in the beginning, just wetting a diaper, was the fear you would leak, once you get over the fear that you will leak I think, things will improve for you.

First of all, thanks for all advice guys, I know it has really been an issue for him. I would help though when he started me on it after about a week or to of trying and "wearing at night for him" I was just doing it. I was told the next day that I would get up (sleep walk I guess) and squat beside the bed, then I just stopped getting up. My body just seems to know when I am wearing most times, though I am most of the time wearing. I have had a mistake once or twice. Sorry I am of no use in this, I just do not know how I did it, let alone how to tell others.
