Dropping the Peach for 09
|
My IBM Thinkpad has been doing fine for over 3 years now. Granted, I had to replace the battery once (they do wear out - it had gone down to powering my laptop for <30 minutes, which was inacceptable), and the current install of Windows is pretty slow (I should defrag the HDD and reinstall the OS, but I'm too lazy). Other than that, no broken parts, not tear or wear, and (as opposed to my desktop keyboard) even the letters on the keyboard are still visible.
Peachy

IBM Thinkpads are quiet good. I have seen fairly old ones like 4-6 years old. And they look almost new. I always want to get a new one. But they are slightly more expensive than your cheap laptop (But they are a worth every peny though!). Though recently the EEE 901 has been attractive. Ever since I had a Portége, the portability and size of the machine is really useful. Try lugging your typical 4kg 15" laptop compared to the 1.5kg 11".
Anyway.... The IBMs stick is the best! It should be mandatory for every laptop to come with one rather than a crappy trackpad. :P |
