You *Don't have to install Linux* get a LiveCD, a bootable operating system on a CD!

70gb of illegal stuff for me, PLUS installed files.

I personally would like to try linux, maybe on my backup computer for downloading torrents, but it is crap for gaming, so, XP.

Alright my computer seems to be working now, I think it might have been over heating, I turned it off for meh 7 hours, now there's no lag in Firefox anymore at least.

No DVD burner on your PC?

Backup everything on DVD and then have a nice format and reinstall, and while you're at it partition your HDD in two to keep data separate from programs and OS.

I would back it up, but wouldn't I need either a huge CD or LOADS of CDs?

A CD is capable of 700 Megabytes.

A normal "single layer" DVD is capable of 4,70 Gigabytes.

This means that you only need 5 DVDs for backupping your 20 Gb of data.
