Need help with sims 2

I downloaded the sims 2 complete collection off of utorrent, but someone said I needed a dvd to burn it on in order to install them, is there any other way to install it without having to burn it to a dvd? I heard there was a way I just haven't found out how yet >.<

I know it is, but I can't get my copies back from my ex, and I can't spend $30 on a new copy >.<
