So I suppose I shall tell people what HAL is.

HAL Laboratory is a Japanese video game developer that was founded on February 21, 1980. Its name comes from the HAL 9000 computer in the film 2001: A Space Odyssey. The company is most famous for its character Kirby, the protagonist of the eponymous game series, as well as the Super Smash Bros. series. It is a second-party development studio of Nintendo.

HAL Laboratory started off making games for the MSX system and the Commodore VIC-20. During the early 1980s, some of their games since the 1986 Famicom Disk System game Gall Force (based on the anime series of the same name) have been released also on Nintendo systems.

In many of its games during the early to mid-'90s it used the name HALKEN (derived from their literal Japanese name "HAL KENkyūjo") as well as HAL Laboratory. Some of its early titles were also released as HAL America, a North American subsidiary of the company.

The current president of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, was a former president of HAL. Other important figures include Masahiro Sakurai, who created the Kirby character and the Super Smash Bros. franchise, and now leads his own company, Sora Ltd.

Now you should know why she was there :P

From the game developers I know, they take confidentiality agreements pretty seriously. If this is true, she probably told you, because they do what the news spread about to create rumour and hype, and nothing does that better than an exciting "secret".

And then there are the people paid by marketing companies to spread rumours exactly like this on various internet forums. I hope you get something nice

You can get the first one on the PC. Sure it would be illegal but you can get it.

If your calling BS then, might as well get a forum mod to lock this thread, but I value the opinions of ADISC on this, so I want everyones opinion on this, but if its a negative, then please keep it to your self, :P

You value the opinion of ADISC and you want to hear everyone's opinion, but you don't want people to be skeptical about it? You're contradicting yourself. You should really have expected that, considering that she supposedly is the head programmer of an important video game-related company, told you about a top secret confidential information AND the fact that you posted it here. That's just too immature and unprofessional of your friend, unless she simply lied to you, which would be a lot more realistic.

Also, I HIGHLY doubt Nintendo would start making handheld Smash Bros. games. But it's not impossible.
