Grats, you compared a Mac PC to a Vista PC...you sir are amazing.

Now how do you feel that I could build a high powered computer, even more powerful then a Mac, put BSD on it and save about 500$ and beat the hell out of your machine.

So you basically spent about 1000 or so dollars on a label and a pretty version of BSD.

And if you want to call me a Windows fanboy, guess what...I use Linux(although I do have XP installed for games another thing your thousand dollar e-peen enhancement can't do).

And for the love of god learn some English.

If I was buying a new computer I would buy anything except: A Dell computer

The help and support is terrible and they always stop working about 6 months after the warranty expires.

1. Macs are more pricey then say a dell with exactly the same hardware and dells are more expensive then say just ordering all the parts and putting it together yourself. Today Knex and logo sets are more harder to build then putting together a computer.

2. The only reason mac's can't get a virus is since no hacker wants to waste his or her time designing a virus for a OS system which is hardly even used.

3. 2.4 GHz dual cores are ok but if you if you really wanted to edit video and encode it then you should of got a Intel Quad Core at and overclock it to 2.6- 3 GHz. That would be WAY more faster then a two core 2.4 GHz.

4. Theres way more video editors for XP/Vista then Mac hands down. This goes for ALL programs and even games. Tell me when your running Call Of Duty 4 from the Mac OS with out using boot camp (which I Think voids the whole purpose in buying a mac)

5. Apple loves you for buying their systems since they know you will either buy a new one when you want/need to upgrade or will take it to one of their stores to have it upgraded.

I am not a windows fanboy I have tried Apples OS and I see no reason why its better then Windows. But hey if your having fun with your mac more power to you.

All I am saying is you could of spent less and got a faster computer. I would say you could cut maybe 15% off the time you spend editing since you did not got for a good dual core or you did not go for a Quad Core.

just anted to elaborate on what is quoted
however i first want to start with this:
it is good that you brought a mac, specially because u fell good about financing it, and also macs are powerful machines, dont be fooled, macs have a less intense os which take advantage of its processor a lot more,
i remember my first pc purchase i felt the same way even tho i was basshed for getting a emachines, but let me tell u ie benchmarked that thing and it can get some real good fps in crysis, and to think it was one of those 300 dollar specials from best buy the day after thanksgiving, dont worry tho im a big fan of mac interfaces, i actually got my pc to look just like a mack

and now to elaborate on what has been said:

1 the cheapst way to get a mac is to build a windows pc and then use a hackintosh crack like osx89, likewise the most expensive way to et a pc is to buy a mac and use bootcamp or parallels

2 the real reason there are not that many virus's for macs is that when a hacker spends time to make a virus he usually is intending on taking something down, like a school mainframe, or a government server, well i know for a fact that schools and government agencies, and most businesses for that matter use servers that run a microsoft os, they may use mac desktops, but servers are usually 99% of the time widows

3 the amount of cores isnt the most important thing, if your rendering video then u want to buy a computer based on the software u use, ex. if ur using a really old software, chances are that it wont support duo cores, so if the software u use only supports duo cores then instead of paying extra for a quad core pay extra for a faster duo core

4 the amount of programs available isnt important, the software that you are comfortable with is more important

5 apple loves everybody, because when you start working there you have to go to "traning" where you are brainwashed to love everything and the employees there are part of a huge turtleneck cult called a union....... lol :laug h:

lol that last one i just threw in but ya kno....

I like windows because I love my sims 2 and like my compatable downloads for my windows version. On a mac, there are fewer downloads. A mac does have a short potential on viruses, but if I owned one, i still would use Microsoft Office, due to the fact i haven't heard much positives on mac's office like programs (do they have a spreadsheet type program yet???) Macs have a Beautiful interface. Windows is far behind on that. Their vista os is comparable, but takes up WAY too much memory.

If everyone used macs, they would become virus potential. They do have better protection. Very few use linux, so there are pretty much 0 viruses, but unless you know what you are doing, linux is probably not for you. ie, 99.9% of your grandparents could never handle linux.

Heres How i go:

Games: Windows
Media: Mac
Interface: Mac/ linux if experienced
Cheap: linux
Internet: Windows or Mac, FYI linux seems to have an impossible time with dialup, depending on distro
Simple: Windows or Mac, whichever you are familiar with

I want all!!

I am not a computer wiz, so if anyone can change/add to what i said, please, please dO
i helped a buddy install all 3 on one system
he used osx89 to get mac osx running on his pc, then we installed bootcamp to run xp
then i installed a hot swap bay for him and he has a hard drive running vista and one running linux
so a total of 3 hd's and 4 os;s all outta one tower

Yeah, I have BitTorrent installed. And yeah I do DJ. Here's a picture of my setup. It's kind of old though, because in that pic I only have one turntable, but now I've got a second one.

Call of Duty 4 is coming native to Macintosh, didn't you hear? . +1 for us Mac users.

And you've only got 2GB of RAM? :\
i got 4 gb(2 x 2gb) team elite ram now
and i dont overclock my cpu its not worth it,and quads a re crap cause you HAVE to overclock them to get decent scores or performance ,while i run @ stock 3.0GHz...and it goe fine + i can fun all the latest games at full speed and graphic intensity without strain.
=P
P.S.
