You mean you want to rip a video from a DVD so that it will play in QuickTime? If that's what you mean, this is an excellent free program which lets you customize all of your export settings. I use it a lot.

mencoder can encode and rip DVDs (and it's free, yes).

yeah dvdfab is great it isnt free, but it has a 30 day trial. you can rip it in any format you want.

I want to be able to play DVD on my disc drive. I'll check your sugestions out though.

Is it complaining about not playing discs about being encrypted or something.

Eitherway, Try VLC, But i have never really bumped into such a problem.

Handbrake, someone might have mentioned it though.

Use sparingly, or the Man with the Gun and the Subpoena will kill you.
