There's no free lunch in life...

...but free beer!
Yes, while that old principle of no free lunches still holds true (at least until tomorrow when my grandfather will pay for my lunch), I got free beer today.
I drove past the Beck's brewery (if you don't know what Beck's is, check out your local supermarket's beer department no matter where you are in the world!) in the midst of the rush hour. Naturally, I was cursing all the other drivers for blocking my way to the point where we didn't go much faster than walking speed. Then I came to a halt in front of some traffic lights with another 10 cars in front of me...when I heard loud music playing outside and a girl and a guy in fancy silver space suits jump out from under a bridge (that was right next to the road) and going from car to car..handing everyone beer bottles.
So I scored four free bottles of quality beer (as there were 4 people in my car).

They gave out their brand new version of alcohol-free Beck's Green Lemon. Not sure if that stuff has even hit the market yet. I guess I should have mentioned that in my original post

I guess it must be marketing hype. Oh well, as you say, you got a free drink!

Alcohol free beer is piss... what a load of crap. It's like caffeine free soda... why drink it?

Well, even the alcoholic version is watered-down to begin with. Only has 2.5% alcohol in it because it's beer (5% alcohol) mixed with lemonade (0% alc).
Plus I couldn't go back and tell the girl to get me the real deal...you never look a gift horse in the mouth! |
