Well, this weekend was great. It started Friday with the NHL Entry Draft, when I attended the Thrashers Fan Club draft party. It was a blast, I got a couple of Bogosian autographs, and I met Dan Kamal, the Thrashers' radio broadcaster, and talked with him for about 5 minutes after the first round was over. I told him about how I wanted to have a carreer in hockey broadcasting, and he gave me some great advice, not condescending at all. The Thrashers took Evander Kane at #4 overall, a strong, physical center comparable to the Wild's Marian Gaborik. At #4, he is the highest-drafted black player in the history of the NHL.

Saturday and Sunday were great, too, as the Red Sox were in town, and I saw them play two games in person! Mind you, I'm not a bandwagon fan. My father and his father were big Red Sox fans, as they were from Boston, and loved them even when they sucked (like me with the Thrashers!), amounting to over 100 years of being Red Sox fans. Although the Red Sox only won Saturday's game, both were very close, and very exciting. They almost never come because of the Braves being an NL ball club, so when they do, it's special.

OK! So, after discovering that NOBODY whatsoever accepts American Express gift cards, I decided to just give the card to my father for Father's Day, and do the whole diaper thing over again. I decided to do the money order option, so after sending in an order, I put $28.48 in the envelope and sent it off yesterday.

Maybe, just maybe... it'll work.
