But for every 3 good things... there are 3 bad things to follow.

So last night I posted my spiel about Lee Evans, Fall Out Boy, and getting the night off work. There's my 3 good things.

About half an hour after posting that very spiel, the cable between the ac supply adapter and my laptop started to overheat - and melt!

So I now have no laptop, considering the battery lasts about 5 minutes.

This morning my replacement phone (got my last one stolen) came through the post. Chuffed as anything till I got home and saw that it wasn't even close to new. In fact, it's in a worse state than the one I lost.

So there's my first two bad things... but today I went out and bought fireworks just for the banter while my parents are away for the weekend.

This evening is going to be interesting... :dunno:

I've been working my ass off doing foley work for university, and have had no time to do anything... :frown:

...except for going to the Fall Out Boy gig on Tuesday, who were actually amazing... (although the supporting acts - You Me At Six and Boys Like Girls were quite crap).

However this would be the second time I've been to a gig with my not-quite-5ft girlfriend, who wanted to go on my shoulders for almost every song.

Yesterday was even better, though. Bought tickets in the afternoon for a show last night, that was in fact for Lee Evans - who is a comedy genius (go youtube him... NOW!)

And just to top off my 3 days of chillaxing, I got the night off work.

Great success! :D

Got the promo vid from India to work on YouTube.

Only covers one of the projects we visited, seeing how I do have 45 hours of footage to rake through for the final project.

It's pretty rough at the moment... need more (better) interview footage for a few technical reasons, and partly because, well, there were a few crap answers to the questions asked.

Anyways, please take a look and let me know what you think

Wellll... I've been diaper-deprived for long enough, and decided I was gonna grab some while I was on my 2 hour break from classes.

So I drove to a Tesco a little out of town - one I knew i'd probably never be in again, or would never see anyone I knew, and picked up a pack of Drynites (not my first choice, but hey. They fit.)

And at that very moment one of my friends called me, and it made the whole process so much easier. I then carry on to the self-service checkout - as yee do - and no doubt... there was a bloomin' cashier standing at the end of the conveyor belt packing flippin' bags!
I was still on the phone, but she gave me the "who and what are these for?!?!" look.

But, to make the whole situation even better at that very moment, my friend asks "where are you just now anyway?" to which I replied, completely out of the blue "Just in Tesco, getting some stuff my mom wants me to get".

The sour-faced cashier clearly heard me and just carried on doing whatever she does.

But it was all just so perfectly timed. Could not have gone better. And I got my diapers. Hazaaah!

Just felt like sharing that story. It's certainly made me chuffed all afternoon! :D

I make this assumption because I can't think of anything that shrieks so highly pitched and so loudly at 3am... but then I always thought bats emitted sound waves above the threshold of human hearing?

Well there's no going back.
Flights are booked, as is the appointment for inoculations (eeeek!) so I will be setting off to India at the end of July.
For two weeks I'll be helping and aiding the children of the slum-dwelling streets of Chennai... which I'm quite looking forward to, for both the fact that i'll be helping change peoples' lives, and the experience of an entirely new culture and lifestyle.

But then, before the tickets were booked I was unsure of whether or not I should go. Having seen videos and photos of the children and families that we'll be working with, it will be extremely hard to come to terms with the state of things before and throughout our mission work.

Really, I've been given the chance to have a first-hand look at what it's like for those considerably less fortunate than any of us, and how they can live life with virtually nothing... and I would regret it if I turned it down.

Well i've not been posting lately, so really i'm catching up with my ADISC-alter ego

I left the Edinburgh Aiport Tie Rack (and the upstuck bitchy clique within) a few weeks ago and now work as a barman/waiter in Brewer's Fayre. Classy!

When I got offered the job, I thought it was just for bar staff - working with food is really not my thing... but I do a bit of both and it's not so bad.
Until you throw sparkling water over a customer like I did today... happy times!

So. moving on somewhat swiftly.
Oh yeah, didn't get the stupid court case cos apparently it would cost me more to get a lawyer than I could claim back, and legal aids don't cover small claims - hence making small claims court the most useless thing since grated cheese.
So i'm now buying one of theeeese to replace my Denon mixer;

It's like sex-in-a-box :D Maybe better...

YOUR TURN... so what's new? What have I missed, anything good?

So now I have to make up for my week's worth of inactivity - which I have 3 or 4 weeks to do so in XD

Just one of these things that really gets to me is this Bloo-Over bluetooth hacker software.

Just one of these things that really gets to me is this Bloo-Over bluetooth hacker software.

I help out at a Friday Youth Cafe (SAMYP Youth Cafe) so I'm always up with what's hot and what's not for teenagers - and one of the most recent ones that's so "hot" you'll need an oven glove is Bloo-Over; the mobile phone Bluetooth hacking software.

So this all came about when one of the boys thought it would be a good idea to attempt to steal my personal data from my phone. Thankfully he told me he was doing it through the constant giggling, so I switched my handset off before he could access it.

I wasn't just hacked off (no pun intended) at the fact that he tried to steal my personal data, but more so, there were at least another 3 of them that had the program and had executed it on numerous occasions, and one of whom told me he was selling it at school for 50p.

What these kids don't realise is that they are breaching so many laws it's unreal. My contacts, my messages, my media files - the lot - in their hands. The fact that they can take all this in a matter of minutes... I mean it's fraud. Nothing more than stealing - and it worries me.
Not them though - the word "illegal" for some reason translates to "cool" among this lot.

What worries me even more is that they could potentially steal one's identity, given they access the right phone. Correct me if I'm wrong - people have served up to 10 years for identity theft.

Not that I think a second year high school has the brains or indeed the balls to do such a thing... but I'm pretty damn sure they're not the only ones who have BlooOver or other hacking devices on their phone.

Another program, which I can't remember the name of, had the ability to enter a mobile phone and practically destroy the SIM card's data and permanently disable the handset. This one, I think, was designed for the school bully - they get nothing but a "bit of a laugh" out of it.

Overall - pretty pissed. Technology advances, and so privacy plummets. I know there's nothing that can really be done about such occurrences. People are always gonna use Bluetooth for data transfer... and so many of those users will remain oblivious to the risk they run by using it.

Having them now replaced, I get a call to say it's ready for collection, then another call 10 minutes later to say "oh no, wait - there's no master signal."
The whole top processor now doesn't work because of whatever they have done - which they want ME to pay £325 ($750) for, plus the £75 for what was broken in the first place.
