I dunno, it seems like you could spend a couple hundred trying to jury-rig it with a regular crib, and it may not work at all. Of I was serious enough to get a crib I think I'd just save up for a long time until I could afford a custom crib or something made for us big babies.

if it were me i would make my own crib. which i intend to do one day when i have space to work in but i will have some help because of my back. It would be cheaper and you can have any style you like. just use a twin bed as a basis to build them add the rest. That is just me though.

I must admit everyone is getting through to me...even though I don't have the correct power tools nor experience, I am seriously thinking of buying the wood, having it pre-cut as much as possible at home depot, and enlisting my boyfriend's help to do it. He's a dl and we've talked about it so no worries there. I would def. want it to be twin...was kinda thinking day bed style with an extra railing you could hide when company comes over or something... I found some plans online for a daybed and I wonder how easy those are to mod to convert into a crib....

really easy you can add them like you would for a baby bed but a little thicker in the wood. it's basically the same concept but you need to decide what kind of access to the crib you want mainly. there are different ways to choose from.

I forget where but I know I saw a website that made adult sized cribs that converted into a regular bed where the railing and everything folded underneath so it looked totally normal. Probably really expensive but a great idea for those of us who want to be able to invite friends over without them knowing about being an ABDL.

I have a baby crib im 5'4 I have heard that the all in 1 cribs are a lot better since they change from a baby bed to a toddler bed to a single full bed but I am huge for my weight 235 that plywood sounds like a good idea though but would you use it on top or bottom of the rails? tks

Yeah that sounds awesome...although you don't know the site so that's called a tease

I have a baby crib and have been using it for more than five years. I am 5’7” and weight 180 lbs and sleep better now than I did in the other bed. This crib is an older model about 18 years old.

There some things to look for in a baby crib if a big baby is to use it.

The mattress support should be a steel frame with wire springs with screws holding the frame to the crib.

One side should rise and lower on steel rails. This will make it easer to get in and out of the crib.

The mattress should a good one and not a foam mattress as it will not take the weight of a big baby.

I have not had to add anything to the crib to use it. And I use it every night.
That is what I have found out about a baby crib

Back when our daughter was a baby in the mid-1980s, we bought a playpen that telescoped out so that the pad sat flat on the floor...support was no problem. Not sure if any manufacturer still makes that type, but you might be able to find a nice used one like that at a thrift store or consignment shop. If not, reinforcing for a raised playpen floor could be simply made with some scrap pieces of wood.
