It's not that hard to get. Knock on wood, I've gotten 4 in the past 24 hours and all I do is throw in my opinion where I want.
All you got to do is be genuine in your words and present your point clearly. Showing a bit of insight goes a long way, as does a willingness to share & elaborate your ideas and accept criticism. |

I voted "I dont Care" i mean, i didnt know the old REP system to well when i was on TBDL and dont understand it alot now, however i did like Lukie's opinion on being able to give a range of Rep's on a post depending on how good it was, say giving a range depending on if your a Regular,VIP,MOD e.t.c.

This shouldn't make much of a difference, however, I can see your point. If people want to look up to me and show me appreciation and respect, I'll return it back to them. I'm a very give'n'take sort of person because I believe in all fairness. Having a higher status doesn't and shouldn't make me any more or less of a user. I'm just like any other person who posts here. I joined a long time ago and I've been in the whole community for a very long time, that's not to say however I was an active participant. I was back on TBN and was a semi-active person there, and I remember the early days of Diaper-Boys and Deekers, but I never contributed anything like I do here. It's only been over the past year or so on here that I've really picked things up. I guess I just felt motivated to assert and integrate myself in this community, possibly due to the fact I had finally accepted having this fetish as a part of me. A few people have asked me how I do it, what my method is and how I achieve posts like that. So I'll say it here as a final answer to the question. It's just how I like to write. My strongest subject in school was English, and at my particular school, doing oral-reports/speeches was a heavy part of the curriculum. Not only that, but about 70% of the speeches I had to do were persuasive speeches. I think you can see where this is going. Over Grades 5-12, I did countless persuasive speeches and it has just become part of my overall writing style. I became very clear in my opinion and quite competent in expressing it. I understand the structure of writing in such a way and I can use it brilliantly... or, at least my teachers thought so. There's no bag of tricks I have, it's just something I learnt over the period of many years. In you analyse my long posts, you'll notice a lot of similarities between them. I'm not doing anything different each time. It's like I have a mould where I pre-cast every foundation of every post I make, therefore every post follows the same basic structure. The only difference being is that each time I build something new and unique on it. I find writing opinion to be the easiest form of writing there is. My philosophy is that, "Everyone has an opinion!", so even on the most mundane topics, someone could write something interesting about it. Ultimately, the only thing we truly ever own is our own opinion, so share it and be happy that you are an individual in that respect. I hate to think they aren't. Controversial opinions are great in many regards, especially to get the ball rolling in conversation. Then again, I know mine aren't so bizarre or flamboyant, but rather they stem from my personal observations/experiences/knowledge and I just add a touch of logic for good measure. To be honest, I don't think a lot of people are willing to accept an overt and partial opinion. People are quick to criticise and judge others based on their own beliefs, which makes it difficult to argue a point. Everyone has a point to prove, but no one wants to be proven wrong. That just takes away the fun of debating. The biggest amount of respect I have for people here is when they question me. As strange as it sounds, but the chance of being proven wrong seems sort of appealing to me (although I'm not fond of it IRL). Why? Because I see it as an opportunity not only for great discussion, but to amend any errors and/or gaps in my own knowledge. |

Which gets me thinking about the system at hand. There, as we know, is a secret element. I'm starting to get a bit uneasy about that fact, but can't pin down why. I kind of hope it doesn't involve rep, sinc I think we should be free to act on our opinions of whether others are contributing or just wasting our time. I love the idea of a mathematic formula to VIPdom and such, but I wonder if it should be automated as it is now. There should at least be some way to override the computer (as you can with banning). The system can't be completely objective. For chissake, we sure aren't with our repping. Czechs and blintzes. |

Your reputation on a site like this is based on what you say and do. Everyone knows i'm an asshole, you don't have to look at the little clicker on the side to find that out. The only thing that should be changed, is when someone leaves you negative feedback you should be able to see who left it.
Not so that they can get hatePM'd, so that they can take some responsibility for it. If you left negative feedback with your name next to it, I think that would send a deeper message, and it would be more respectful. Currently, you're just slapping the person while they're wearing a bag over their head. |
