I've.taken.quite.a.beating.reputation.wise.lately. so.i.assume.that.is.the.reason

but.i.don't.find.it.fair.to.be.kicked.out.of.the.c hat.

I assume you mean the flash chat, as IRC isn't connected to the site directly. If so, then I'd probably blame your lurker status. Either way, you should be able to get on IRC.

Like I said, wait no more than an hour, and the system will put you back into your old status (regular I believe), then try the chat...

If you keep whore posting, you'll get
(1) a nice STI
(2) a smack over your head by a moderator
(3) negative reputation,

but yet the hour it takes to reset your status won't pass any faster. In fact, if your reputation becomes negative, you will remain a lurker until the reputation is back up to 0 and won't get into the FlashChat at all.
