I would partially agree with your parents, but only on the grounds that people don't need to know what i'm up to every 10 seconds, my family doesn't need to know that I drank beer last night (just an example), and my boss doesn't need to know that I went to an underage party with lots of alcohol and got wasted last weekend (once again, just an example). People don't need to know that.

That is why I don't go on Facebook very often (if ever). The only reason I have Facebook is that one of my classmates (yes, she's hot) goaded me to sign up. It's likely that after college I will simply deactivate my facebook account and never return. My future boss(es) will be surprised to find that I don't have facebook so they can't check on me and evaluate my value to the company just through facebook (I have seen that done).

Oh, well, Its not for those reason they hate it. One of my relatives had a very unforunate accident with facebook, she had some pictures that wern't supposed to be shared. They got shared by my uncle because he usually takes everything from the camera and puts it online. Little did he know what was on that camera...

But I guess your right. That doesn't exactly seem right, I probably will join eventually and just to check it out. If its cool, I might stay. I can't say alot of my friends are on facebook though, so theres very little in the way of socializing I would be doing.

Perfect examples of why st00pid people shouldn't have internet access. Without facebook or myspace, st00pid people wouldn't be able to blame the st00pid things they do on st00pid sites.

Aside from that, it's a really stupid idea to associate your real life details with places like ADISC whever everyone on this world - friends, family, porential employers - can find out at the click of a button. Might as well go ahead and post a picture of yourself in nothing but a diaper on Facebook!

Peachy
Seconded.

An AB/DL group on Facebook seems like an accident waiting to happen.

Doing this would be pointless.

"Hey we're a bunch of AB/DL's and we are awesome, here's a pic of some random ass dude wearing a diaper, blah."

We already have a gallery here, and there are plenty of methods of talking to people rather than facebook.

Es muy stupido!

I ran a group on Facebook for ADISC members a while ago. I've since dropped from the group, but if you look around in the VIP forum, I think it's still there.

Now, it didn't ever mention ADISC, just series of adjectives that spell out A-D-I-S-C in a stealth fashion with a highly ambiguous group title.

It was cool to observe once more that the people here are real, and lead real lives, but I decided that it was too much of a personal info stretch for me, and dropped my role as group leader. I just looked at the group now, and it seems that it's closed to new members (joining requires approval), and the list of people in it is hidden.

There's no point, there isn't anything to do on a facebook group besides click the join button and let them spam you with advertisements.

I would just share the risk of others finding out the group you are associated with and how this could affect your real life.
