Default Noobs and double threading.

First off this is NOT a complain thread. But Ive been noticing alot especially in the tb forum that noobs just randomly post threads that may have already been posted maybe a week earlier. Im just saying that i think it would be benifitial if more notice was given to them during or right after they sign up about the "see if already posted" button or about searching the forum before posting.

Not complaining dont hit me lol

But really I know what you mean but still some people just won't listen to it and it will still happen from time to time. Also I recommend submitting your suggestion here. Welcome PM for all Newbies

If ADISC was a site where people searched for answers, found them, and left without saying anything, then we'd be a library, not a community site.

Newbies will always ask questions that have been asked before.

Our job is not to prevent them doing this, but to welcome them into the community, and help them integrate happily, once they do it.

That doesn't count for, "How do I use a diaper?" does it?

You're gonna see this, nothing can be done to stop it. If at 17 you're already getting weary of it, just imagine how much the older members are

So you won't even take action into say, merging topics anymore?

We have two "Where The Wild Things Are" topics. I always thought it was rather dumb they were never merged since they are about the same exact thing. I even suggested it once before.

We'll still take action, such as merging topics about the same thing.

I just want you to realize that newbies asking questions that have been asked before is a necessary part of any forum, and not something we could or should eliminate.

Default newbie

Being a newbie myself the website does not get interesting till after you post a couple threads. I hope this isn't a website where the veteran members think less of newbies. I might be a newbie to the site but I am far from a newbie diaper wearer.

Did you know that when you make a thread, it automatically searches for similar threads! :O

Just let them be. There's always going to end up being repeats of threads.
