Default This post count thing is annoying.

I've been trying to meet people, and send messages, but I have to have a certain amount of posts in order to do so. This makes sending a message to someone who I would like to try and friend really freakin hard.

So I guess this counts as a post? Not much to say except me whining about post counts. I'm not trying to post whore here or anything.

Is it too much to ask that you post a little bit so people know you're an okay person before you go out sending messages?

It's not like you need a huge number of posts to be able to send private messages. You can still post to other users profiles until you get 3 more posts!

Also, this shouldn't be in Diaper Talk. It's better suited for Off-Topic.

And twenty posts isn't asking much, really.

It's not at all.
However there is someone here I've talked to a couple times and instead of making a post to that one person for everyone to read, I wanted to ask him a question via message. I can't do that because my post count is so low. It's just a little annoying.

The Rainfurrest convention is getting closer and I had some questions about it. I don't want to have to make some random pointless posts just to ask someone a question via message.

I think Olivia might be wrong this should probably be in Babyfur/littlefur forums.

Kind of. If you wanted to ask questions then why not make a thread? Get both jobs done.

Unless you want to personally contact them, in which case, better to go make some, you know, non-pointless posts.

Moved to Administrative stuff-forum...has nothing to do with diapers!

By the way: The restrictions are in place to encourage people to become active in the community before they get the same rights as older members. I.e. you have to earn your rights and won't get them on a silver platter. Consider it a probation period...pretty standard in most real life places like work, health clubs and what not.

Hey Scalie, good to meet you.

I can understand that it might be frustrating to want to post a private message but have a post count requirement to meet first. As others say, the post count requirement is ultimately there to protect people, because when a new member joins there is the possibility that they don't understand what's OK to ask people or say here, and people want to get to know you a little first. Of course, others, like you, just want to ask a legit question.

As you use the forums, you'll soon accumilate a decent post count, but in the mean time, it's best to use the admin forum for threads about how ADISC rules are set out, or as others have said, maybe the Off-Topic forum or the Babyfur forum if your question was about that. Trouble with making a thread in the Diaper Talk forum, is that it's not on topic at all and people dislike that. Maybe the mods will move the thread.

Anyhow, you haven't been here all that long so maybe you didn't know these things yet. I hope you enjoy posting and discussing on the forums and soon get the full usage of ADISC. See you around.

Edit. Ah soggy fruit loops, don't you just hate it when your post ended up after someone elses better one?! Hehe. Ah well. I tried.
