Default Make SSL an option, not default.

There's a link up in the upper-right corner that says "Enable/Disable SSL". If you were to put this in a nice, flashy green font (a la "Rules" link) Then people would know it is there and enable it if desired.

The only reason I see to not make it default is that it strips the ability to post IMG-tagged images. The result would end up a link, which is inconvenient. People who don't mind this inconvenience and would like SSL could still happily use SSL if desired.

My , thoughts?

Removing img tags is more than an inconvienience for me as 80% of my usage is on my iPod, and attachments don't work on that.

But anyway: It is an option already. I'd be against making it green as big green links standing out piss people off (me among them). Just read the thread asking for the rules icon to be back to a normal colour.

Also correct me if I'm wrong: the rules link isn't green for me? It goes away when you click it or something.

So then don't make it huge green :P, but make SSL an option not a default. That way people who ARE concerned to the brink about their privacy and security can have their satisfaction.

O_o? Really? I thought that I read somewhere that Moo made it default; that guests would automatically load SSL by default, that you would have to turn it off...?

Really, you're one of the only people that I know of who actually posts pictures. If you want SSL enabled everytime you come here, then type "https" instead of "http", or if you're using a bookmark, then just change it to "https". Moo did have it set as default, but then he changed it, as discussed here, and explained more here (a thread you were the last to post in by the way).

SSL button is a funny thing.

I would like to see a feature where you can disable images in users posts and see them as links, that are not hyper-linked to some internal redirect preferably. Irregardless to using SSL or not.
