I don't get excited about highchairs or prams (although I did see the frame of a '50s era foldable stroller in the trash a week or two ago). Unfortunately it was JUST the frame (no seat/back).

I had a '50s era foldable carriage (pram) for my youngest daughter actually. It had been my older sisters...and the vinyl cover was cracking and splitting, but otherwise it was in good shape. My mum & oldest sister recovered it in a quilted black floral print (black background with tiny little pink/mauve/white flowers) on the basket, same print (not quilted) on the hood) and lined it with a pale mauve, and trimmed with white braid around the top edge of the basket and white fringe on the front of the hood. My husband (at the time) polished up the chrome...it was a BEAUTY! I think I have a photo somewhere of my granddaughter sleeping in it...I'll see if I can find it. The best part of it was you could take the basket out of the frame...and use it like a 'carry-cot'...its where my youngest slept the first 4 weeks of her life (we were staying with my folks).

Ohhhhhh and her bed at home (when we finally got home) was a '20s era (or earlier) wicker bassinet which my mum covered in a lavender 'dotted swiss' with ruffles and bows. It was GORGEOUS. The original legs were missing so my dad made legs for it out of an old bedstead. (My family's kinda "crafty"!) :-D

Anyway...I dooooooo have a soft-spot for PLUSHIES....that's how I ended up with Jozee...saw her at the farmer's market at the ferry terminal the Saturday before Easter...she looked so cute sitting there with her little sweater with the bunny & flower appliques...I just HAD to pick her up 'n cuddle her...and then I HAD to buy her! I'm a sucker for plushies. I'm glad I don't walk past "Starbucks" any more...'cause every time I walked by they had a different teddy "on sale" (I bought THREE of them!)
