I have never heard of this before. But I have heard of certain white noises helping people get to sleep, like me.

Ever since I was little, silence scared me. And well im not as scared of it anymore, back when I was 5 I couldn't keep quite when some said "Shh". I was always scared of the silence as it made me feel alone, exposed and endangered. Now that and my persisting fear of darkness (yes, still) coupled makes sleep hard for me so I almost always end up sleeping with my radio or fan (sometimes my computer) on and more or less of a night light. Its one of those salt lamp things that make you feel good or something. Its annoying, I get critisism from my friends whenever they sleep at my place because I make alot of noise without my noise and light. Of course, he has to be the complete opposite.

Anyways, it makes sense to me that sounds that are regular to a person could help them sleep. Such as the sound of a mothers womb to an infant.
