You just did. And it came across really bitchy. And for most peple, losing a serious boy/girlfriend is a VERY big emotional deal. And for many losing their best friend would have a similar effect.
As far as people who are whiny goes, I usually listen once, give them advice, listen once more and if nothing has changed, I no longer care. I tend not to surround myself with people who are bitchy, most of my mates and I are fairly easy going guys when it comes to problems, like, if we have an immediate serious problem, usually we'll have a discussion over a few drinks and that will have it sorted.
I think there are relationships where people need to be able to have a good whinge though. At the moment I still live with my mother, and I listen to her a lot, because she has a high stress job and no husband to comfort her. Although her issues are usually resolved very quickly, so we don't go over the some shit every discussion.
